The very first pets I had growing up were a labrador retriever and a horse – at four years old, nothing made me feel more like a princess. I had a loyal companion that followed me everywhere I went, and an angelic horse that could take me anywhere.

I named him “Tony the Pony”

–After typing this, I just had a God-wink…isn’t it amazing how God works? One of my very first pets was a black labrador retriever, and 20 years later, my fiancé proposed to me along with his black labrador retriever, Luke. (read the full story here. :)) God’s divine plan is nothing short of amazing.–

When I first visited Oakland Farm, I knew I had to meet these beautiful creatures. Since it had been so long since I spent much time with horses, I was unsure how they/I would react. I stepped inside the gate, turned around and slowly closed it behind me – trying to remember everything I had learned at four years old. I turned back around, and there they were. Trotting through the field, coming to meet me. All the nervousness I felt vanished, and I found myself walking towards them to greet them.

Needless to say, I am now so in love, and Monica is too!! How STUNNING is she?! Planning this styled shoot was so much fun. We were nearly crying leaving the shoot because they wanted to follow us out of the gate!
